The Temptations est un groupe de soul et rythm and blues mythique, fondé en 1961 à Détroit. Le groupe connaît un succès mondial et restera une icône de l’histoire de la musique. Pour preuve, en 1989, le groupe est introduit au Rock and Roll Hall of Fame avant d’obtenir une étoile au Walk of Fame de Hollywood en 1989. Le groupe connaît son apogée avec le titre Papa was a Rollin’ Stone, reprise du groupe The Undisputed Truth. Le titre se place à la 1re place du classement Billboard Hot 100, remporte 3 Grammy Awards et fait son entrée dans le classement des plus grandes chansons de tous les temps.

Le groupe sort plus d’une cinquantaine d’albums et remporte deux autres Grammy pour leur album Cloud Nine en 1968, puis l’album Ear-Resistance en 2000.
