Crown Uzama, born on April 12, 2000, in Benin City, Nigeria, has emerged as one of the most prominent faces of the new Afrobeats generation under the stage name Shallipopi, also known as « Pluto Presido. » The eldest of four siblings, he drew early inspiration from the vibrant culture and music of his hometown. By 2015, he was already standing out on social media with viral freestyles on TikTok, laying the foundation for a bold, high-energy musical style blending trap, amapiano, afropop, and street pop.

The major breakthrough came in March 2023 with the release of *Elon Musk*, which became a nationwide sensation, reaching No. 1 on Nigeria’s Apple Music chart and earning a spot in Apple Music’s « Up Next » program. Remixes with Zlatan and Fireboy DML further cemented his rise, while his single *Ex Convict* reached No. 6 on the TurnTable Top 100. He capitalized on this momentum with his debut EP *Planet Pluto* in July 2023, featuring Zlatan, Fireboy DML, and Pa Monday-Edo, followed by his first studio album *Presido La Pluto* in November 2023, which received strong acclaim in Nigeria.

In April 2024, Shallipopi confirmed his star status with *Shakespopi*, which debuted at No. 1 on both the TurnTable Album Chart and Apple Music Nigeria. The lead single *ASAP*, produced by Producer X and Signal the Plug, topped the Afrobeats charts nationally. In June 2024, he dropped *Benin Boys* in collaboration with Rema — a massive hit that amassed over a million streams on day one, celebrating the pride and culture of Benin City.

Shallipopi also stood out for his electrifying, sold-out performances, including shows at Wireless Festival in London, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, and Ghana throughout 2024. In October 2023, he launched his own label, Plutomania Records, signing emerging artists like Zerry DL and Tega Boi DC.

By 2025, he had reached new heights with the single *Laho*, released in March, which entered Billboard’s Top 10 Afrobeat chart. The remix *Laho II* with Burna Boy dropped in April 2025 and quickly racked up over 8 million views on YouTube. A Vybz Kartel remix version added a Caribbean flavor and strengthened his international presence.

Issu d’une fratrie de quatre enfants, il puise dans les sons et la culture de sa ville natale ses premières inspirations. Dès 2015, il se distingue sur les réseaux sociaux avec des freestyles viraux sur TikTok, dessinant les contours d’un style explosif alliant trap, amapiano, afropop et street pop.

Le moment décisif arrive en mars 2023 avec le single *Elon Musk*, devenu un véritable phénomène, numéro 1 du Nigeria sur Apple Music, et intégré au programme « Up Next » d’Apple Music.
