Chip Fu and Shaquille O’Neal Drop the « Cooyah Freestyle »
The year 2025 continues to bring surprises to the Hip-Hop scene! Underground veteran Chip Fu (from the group Fu-Schnickens) has just released a major new freestyle «Cooyah Freestyle» in collaboration with none other than basketball legend and confirmed rapper, Shaquille O’Neal.
The video, posted on November 14, 2025, is a pure lyrical exercise, reminiscent of the golden era of rap where complex lyricism and flow were paramount.
Flows and Flex
Over a hard-hitting, menacing beat, both artists deliver punchlines that are both powerful and supremely confident, alternating between Chip Fu‘s raw technique and Shaq‘s street credibility:
Shaquille O’Neal: The “Big Diesel” on the Mic
Shaq, a.k.a. “The Man, The Plan,” opens the track with an air of unshakeable confidence. He immediately establishes his status as an untouchable baller, mixing references to money, success, and his luxury toys (Lamborghini, Bugatti):
He positions himself as a master of the game, contrasting the money he earns with the idea of short-lived fame: “shacks the man the plan to be the master was a master plan how you growing money you ain’t even got cash to fan”.
He emphasizes his elite status, whether on the court or in rap, all while detailing an extravagant lifestyle, traveling by private jet and having a choice between the rarest sports cars: “beach house down on the bay or another law took tell a deal or whatever just make it better war of the lamb Bugatti or the Roy i forgot the bins and porch got to pick a choice”.
Chip Fu: The Unmistakable Flow
Chip Fu closes out the freestyle with his inimitable vocal technique. Staying true to his roots, he deploys an ultra-fast, choppy flow rich in alliterations that recalls his work with Fu-Schnickens. He asserts his lyrical supremacy, placing himself above the competition:
He positions himself as the rap elder statesman, the MC that everyone respects and fears: “It’s only one MC they get to shun MC’s they all my sons and they know you underground but they know me under the sea”.
He highlights the importance of skill and longevity in the game: “me and my nigga the head of the class with a medically pass and the test ready for class my class prepare me sick with the fire niggas claiming sick please retire”.
A Freestyle for the Purists
“Cooyah Freestyle” is an excellent display of bars and skillz that will appeal to listeners nostalgic for the raw energy of 90s Hip-Hop, while proving that these legends remain relevant and sharp.
