Le groupe se fait remarquer en 1969 par le producteur Gene Redd Jr, qui deviendra par la suite leur manager. Entre 1970 et 1972, ils sortent trois albums tr\u00e8s jazzy, mais c’est v\u00e9ritablement leur album Wild and Peaceful<\/i><\/strong>, sortit en 1973 qui marque leur premier succ\u00e8s commercial. L’album se classe 36 semaines cons\u00e9cutives au classement Billboard R&B et leur vaut un premier disque d’or.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u00c0 la fin des ann\u00e9es 70′, le groupe prend un tournant plus disco et produit une s\u00e9rie de hits plan\u00e9taires qui traverseront les ann\u00e9es sans se d\u00e9moder, dont Ladies Night<\/i> en 1979, Celebration<\/i> en 1980, Get Down on It<\/i> en 1981 et Fresh<\/i> en 1984.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Kool & The Gang is an iconic band founded in Jersey City, in 1964.
