Beenie Man, d’abord connu sous le nom de ‘Beany Man’, est une l\u00e9gende du dancehall old school. Il est n\u00e9 le 22 ao\u00fbt 1973 dans la capitale Jama\u00efcaine, l’\u00e9picentre du dancehall, Kingston. La carri\u00e8re de Beenie Man commence tr\u00e8s t\u00f4t ; il est r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 gr\u00e2ce au radio-crochet jama\u00efcain Teeny Talent contest<\/i>, qu’il remporte \u00e0 l’\u00e2ge de 8 ans. Il est rep\u00e9r\u00e9 \u00e0 cette occasion par le producteur de reggae Henry ‘Junjo’ Lawes avec qui il sort son premier single \u00ab Too Fancy \u00bb<\/i> qui le fait entrer dans le circuit des c\u00e9l\u00e8bres sound system<\/i> de Kingston. En 1983, le jeune artiste appara\u00eet sur le disque Two Big Sound \u2013 Live!<\/i><\/strong> produit par Junjo, aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de grands noms de la sc\u00e8ne reggae internationale comme Dillinger. La m\u00eame ann\u00e9e, il sort son premier album The Invincible Beenie Man: 10-Year-Old Deejay Wonder<\/i> avant d’\u00eatre au centre d’une querelle publique avec le DJ Bounty Killer qui le fera se retirer de la sc\u00e8ne jama\u00efcaine pour une d\u00e9cennie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il revient en 1994 avec l’album Guns Out<\/i><\/strong> qu’il partage avec Bounty Killer et qui marquera leur r\u00e9conciliation. Depuis, l’artiste est prolifique il compte pr\u00e8s de 1000 singles et une vingtaine d’albums officiels \u00e0 son actif dont : Many Moods of Moses<\/i><\/strong> dont est issu son titre \u00ab Who Am I (Sim Simma) \u00bb<\/i>, The Doctor<\/strong> en 1999 ou Undisputed<\/i><\/strong> en 2006 qui se classera en premi\u00e8re position au Billboard Reggae Albums. Aujourd’hui l’artiste est toujours actif et b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie d’une reconnaissance internationale. Il a d’ailleurs annonc\u00e9 la sortie de son nouvel album \u00ab Simma \u00bb courant 2021 avec des invit\u00e9s qu’il n’est plus n\u00e9cessaire de pr\u00e9senter comme Shaggy et Sean Paul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beenie Man, first known as ‘Beany Man’, is an old school dancehall legend born on August 22, 1973 in the Jamaican capital, Kingston. Beenie Man’s career kicks off at an early age ; he was revealed through the Jamaican radio talent contest Teeny Talent contest<\/i>, which he won at the age of 8. He was spotted at this occasion by the reggae producer Henry ‘Junjo’ Lawes, with whom he released his first single \u00ab\u00a0Too Fancy\u00a0\u00bb<\/i> that launched him on the circuit of the famous sound system<\/i> of Kingston. In 1983, the young artist appeared on the Two Big Sound – Live!<\/i><\/strong> record produced by Junjo, alongside with big names of the international reggae scene such as Dillinger. He released his debut album The Invincible Beenie Man: 10-Year-Old Deejay Wonder<\/i> that same year, before being at the center of a public feud with DJ Bounty Killer that caused him to retire from the Jamaican scene for about ten years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He returned in 1994 with the album Guns Out<\/i><\/strong> shared with Bounty Killer, which marked their reconciliation.
