He rose to fame after releasing his hit track, <strong>Away<\/strong>, which appeared on <strong>the Rolling Stone 50 best songs of 2020 list<\/strong>. But it is with the release of his single \u00ab\u00a0Shugar\u00a0\u00bb and the collaboration with the rapper <strong>Blaqbonez<\/strong> on<strong> \u00ab\u00a0Mamiwota\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong> that the young Oxlade finally gets noticed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2022, Oxlade signed to <strong>Epic Records<\/strong>, a renowned recording label owned by Sony Entertainment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After joining Epic Records, the singer also joined <strong>Columbia Records<\/strong> by extension<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nigerian singer and songwriter also signed to <strong>Troniq Music, <\/strong>and<strong> Fuenlabrada Records<\/strong> in the UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Oxlade was named the first Pandora Africa&rsquo;s Next Artist in July 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2018, he was<strong> approached by A&amp;R executive Bizzle Osikoya<\/strong>, right after the release of <strong>\u00ab\u00a0Mamiwota\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong> by Blaqbonez, off the&nbsp;<strong><em>Bad Boy Blaq<\/em>&nbsp;EP<\/strong>, released through 100 Crowns, an imprint of <strong>Chocolate City<\/strong>. After his meeting with Bizzle, he signed a management deal with <strong>The Plug<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His best hit <strong>\u00ab\u00a0Away\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong> appeared at <strong>number 23 on the Nigerian&nbsp;<em>TurnTable<\/em>&nbsp;Top 50 year-end chart of 2020<\/strong>. He released<strong> \u00ab\u00a0DKT\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong> independently on 3 September 2020 and its music video on 10 May 2021, which was shot and directed by <strong>Dammy Twitch<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On 7 November 2020, <strong>Drake<\/strong> posted a screenshot on his Instagram story, listening to Away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In January 2021, his collaboration with <strong>Dolapo, and Ms Banks <\/strong>on their song <strong>\u00ab\u00a0Interest\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong>, earned him his first entry on <strong>Capital XTRA Airplay Chart at number eleven on 18 February 2021<\/strong>. and also earned him, his first career entry on <strong>UK Afrobeats Singles Chart at number ten<\/strong>, and <strong>spent twelve consecutive weeks on chart.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In October 2021, he earned his second entry on the UK Afrobeats Singles Chart with his track \u00ab\u00a0Ojuju\u00a0\u00bb, which is currently on chart for five consecutive weeks, since 3 October. It also peaked at <strong>number thirteen on Nigeria&rsquo;s&nbsp;<em>TurnTable<\/em>&nbsp;Top 50 weekly chart.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was featured on the single <strong>\u00ab\u00a0Kolo\u00a0\u00bb by Ice Prince<\/strong>, which spent <strong>eighteen consecutive weeks on chart, and peaked at number eight on&nbsp;<em>TurnTable<\/em>&nbsp;Top 50 weekly chart.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On 24 August 2021, Oxlade performed<strong> \u00ab\u00a0Slow Down\u00a0\u00bb by Skip Marley for The Grammy web series<\/strong> popularly known as Reimagined At Home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On 10 June 2022, he released <strong>\u00ab\u00a0Ku Lo Sa\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong>, for<strong> ColorsxStudios<\/strong>. Following its release, a live-performing video was released on Colors YouTube channel, which has received <strong>over 40 million YouTube streams<\/strong>. On 19 June 2022, it debuted at <strong>number 11 on the Official Afrobeats Chart Top 20 chart, and reached number 8 on 10 July 2022, exactly one month after its initial release<\/strong>.
