A popular queen of festive raï, Cheba Zahouania remains one of the most emblematic female
artists in the history of the genre. Rising in the 1980s and 1990s, she established a powerful,
provocative, and instantly recognizable voice in a scene then largely dominated by male
figures.
Her collaborations with Cheb Hasni notably contributed to some of the most beloved classics of sentimental and urban raï, strengthening her historic place within Algerian and Maghrebi musical culture.
Across decades, she built a massive catalog of hits broadcast throughout Algeria, the Maghreb, France, and diasporic communities, becoming an essential figure on major NorthAfrican popular stages.
Maghrebi festivals, major community events, international stages, and exceptional longevity
make Cheba Zahouania a powerful heritage figure and a major booking value for diasporic
and cultural markets.
