Born Chinsea Linda Lee on October 1, 1996, in Mandeville, Jamaica, Shenseea has rapidly established herself as one of the most influential artists of the new generation of dancehall and Caribbean pop. Of Jamaican and South Korean heritage, she developed an early hybrid identity blending dancehall culture, hip-hop influences, and international appeal. After studying marketing and entertainment management, she first gained attention through Jamaican sound systems before breaking into the local music scene.
She gained visibility from 2016 onward through freestyles and early live performances, notably opening for Sean Paul, which helped expand her audience. Her first major breakthrough came with “Loodi” alongside Vybz Kartel, a track that generated tens of millions of views and became a major dancehall hit in Jamaica and across the diaspora.

Singles such as “Hit & Run,” “Curious,” “Die For You,” “Be Good,” and “Neva Neva” each generated millions to tens of millions of streams. She also continued appearing on international projects while fluidly moving between dancehall, afro, pop, and hip-hop.
