Best known by his stage name Gunna, Sergio Giavanni Kitchens is an American singer and songwriter born on June 14, 1993 from College Park, Georgia, he is currently signed under the 300 Entertainment label and the YSL Records label of rapper Young Thug. Through his series of mixtapes « Dripseason », Gunna has made a name and continues with projects such as « Drip or drown 2 just released and » Drip Harder « released in 2018 zith the collaboration of the other prodigy of Atlanta Lil baby. With mentors such as Future, Outkast, Young thug, and Cam’ronjimjones, Gunna has been able to make the most of each of them and collaborate with other artists such as Lil uzy vert, Lil Yachty, Kap G and Metro boomin.

Career :

Last born with four older brothers. He started making music at the age of fifteen. He became more serious about verse in 2016, after meeting in Atlanta the rapper Young Thug, via a mutual friend, Gunna decides to take things seriously and even thinks of the possibility of a long career in hip-hop. The two Atlantean geniuses developed a friendship and later on, Gunna was in the studio, jumping on Young Thug’s « Floyd Mayweather », where he shared a verse alongside superstars Gucci Mane and Travis Scott. 
Number 41 is in Billboard’s R & B / hip-hop chart. This single was enough to propel Gunna under the fire of the projectors. A few days later, he signs under the YSL label of Young Thug. In 2013, Gunna released the Hard Body mixtape under the name of Young Gunna. By the end of 2016, he had released the Drip Season mixtape. The later continuation, DripSeason 2, was released in 2017, as well as an EP produced entirely by Wheezy, Drip or Drown.

For Drip Season 3 Gunna hits the Billboard 200 for the first time with its end in 2018, Drip Season 3, with guest appearances by Lil Yachty, Lil Uzi Green and Metro Boomin. The mixtape was ranked number 55. All these shattering entries in the Billboard allowed him appearing on JEFFERY projects and BeautifulThugger Girls by his mentor Young Thug.

After ten months, the rapper returned to Lil Baby’s side with Drip Harder, which moved on to number four, alongside with « Drip Too Hard, » his first platinum-certified record. At this point, Gunna was ready for a first album and, with a verse on MariahCarey’s « Stay Long Love You », he even made his first big crossover move. For long in the making, Drip or Drown 2 was released in February 2019 and defeated Gunna’sprevious positions by holding the third position on the Billboard 200.

With his latest album released recently, Gunna rose to the top 5 first album sales and proved that he could make it. Without raising hisvoice, Gunna became one of the most dynamic rap artists of the late 2010s. Gunna confirmed his high trade status with Drip or Drown 2 (2019), his first album. He confirmed that he is no longer just q revelation but more, he is here to stay.
