Ziggy Marley est un chanteur de reggae jamaïcain, né le 17 octobre 1968 à Kingston. Ziggy Marley, de son vrai nom David Nesta Marley, est le fils de Bob Marley et perpétue avec brio les convictions humanistes de son père au travers de ses chansons.

Ziggy Marley connaît ses premiers succès avec son groupe Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers qu’il fonde en 1979 avec ses frères et sœurs. Le groupe remporte deux Grammy Awards en 1988 et 1989 pour leurs titres « Conscious Party » et « One Bright Day » avant de connaître la consécration en 1997, en obtenant le titre de « Meilleur album reggae de l’année » pour leur album Fallen is Babylon.

Ziggy Marley sort son premier album solo en 2003, Dragonfly, qui restera 8 semaines consécutives dans les classements reggae américains. En 2006, Ziggy rencontre un franc succès avec son deuxième album Love Is My Religion qui remporte un Grammy Award de « Meilleur album reggae de l’année » et ouvre la voie d’une longue série de récompenses. Il rafle en tout cinq Grammy Awards en solo avec : Ziggy Marley In Concert en 2013, Fly Rasta en 2014, Ziggy Marley en 2016 et il remporte en 2009 le prix de « Meilleur album pour enfants » avec son album Family Time.

Ziggy Marley met his first successes with his band Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers, which he founded in 1979 with his siblings. The band wins two Grammy Awards in 1988 and 1989 for their tracks « Conscious Party » and « One Bright Day » before achieving the higest recognition in 1997 by winning the « Best Reggae Album of the Year » Grammy Award for their album Fallen is Babylon.

Ziggy Marley released his first solo album in 2003, Dragonfly, which will remain on the U.S. reggae chart for eight consecutive weeks. In 2006, Ziggy reaches the top with his second album Love Is My Religion, which wins a Grammy Award for « Best Reggae Album of the Year » and sets the stage for a long string of success. All in all, he takes home a total of five Grammy Awards throughout his solo carrer, with : Ziggy Marley In Concert in 2013, Fly Rasta in 2014, Ziggy Marley in 2016, and he won « Best Children’s Album » in 2009 with his album Family Time.
