Lil Pump, born Gazzy Garcia on August 17, 2000 in Miami, Florida, to a Cuban mother and a Mexican father, is a famous American rapper and music producer, mostly known for his viral single « Gucci Gang ».

Pump began rapping in middle school under the influence of his friend Smokepurpp, releasing his first tracks on Soundcloud with several freestyles including the track « Lil Pump » with which he made his debut in 2016, before following up with several other tracks to make a name in the industry, such as « D Rose » , filmed by Cole Bennet with his well known production company “Lyrical lemonade”, until the famous single « Gucci Gang » released in August 2017. The song became his first mainstream commercial success. The self-titled album was released later that year and was a major success. 

He, along with other rappers such as XXXTentacion, Ski Mask The Slump God, Smokepurpp, Trippie Redd, Bhad Bhabie and Ronny J, represents a new generation of rappers and producers coming out of the online audio distribution platform SoundCloud. In 2018, he was considered by the New York Times as one of the rising figures of the American rap scene.

In March 2018, he broke his contract with Warner. His lawyers play on the fact that he was a minor when he signed his contract. This contract was therefore never legally valid.

He announced a few weeks later to return to his former label for an amount of 8 million dollars.

His second and latest studio album to date « Harverd Dropout » was released in February 2019 and went directly to the top 10 of the BillBoard 200 upon its release. Check his last song « All The Sudden », below.

Lil Pump est née Gazzy Garcia le 17 août 2000 à Miami, en Floride, d’une mère cubaine et d’un père mexicain, est un célèbre rappeur et producteur de musique américain, notamment connu pour son single viral “Gucci Gang”. 

Pump commence à rapper au collège sous l’influence de son ami Smokepurpp. Il diffuse ses premiers morceaux sur la plateforme Soundcloud avec plusieurs freestyles dont le morceau «Lil Pump» avec lequel il fait ses débuts en 2016, avant d’enchaîner sur plusieurs autres morceaux pour se faire connaître comme “D Rose” , clippé par Cole Bennet avec sa boite de production “Lyrical lemonade”, jusqu’au fameux single “Gucci Gang” sortis en août 2017. La chanson est devenue son premier succès commercial grand public. L’album éponyme est sorti plus tard cette année et a été un succès majeur. 

Il représente, avec d’autres rappeurs comme XXXTentacion, Ski Mask The Slump God, Smokepurpp, Trippie Redd, Bhad Bhabie et Ronny J, une nouvelle génération de rappeurs et de producteurs issus de la plateforme de distribution audio en ligne SoundCloud. En 2018, il est considéré par le New York Times comme l’une des figures montantes de la scène américaine de rap.

En mars 2018, il rompt son contrat avec Warner. Ses avocats jouent sur le fait qu’il était mineur à la signature de son contrat. Ce contrat n’a donc jamais été juridiquement valide.

Il annonce quelques semaines plus tard retourner chez son ancien label contre la somme de 8 millions de dollars.
