MC EIHT is considered as a West Coast rap legend, alongside with names likle N.W.A
(Niggaz With Attitudes), Ice T, Schooly D, Too $hort or Geto Boys, due to his significant
contribution to this musical subgenre and his ability to maintain a successful career over

As one of the pioneers of gangsta rap, he defined the sound of West Coast gangsta rap,

Hailing from Compton, and founding member of the rap group “Compton’s Most
Wanted”(CMW), MC Eiht became a spokesperson for his community and told the realities of
life in the city through his music. He helped shed light on the challenges and stories of
Compton.
His song « Streiht Up Menace », especially featured on the soundtrack of the film « Menace II
Society, » became an anthem of gangsta rap. It received widespread airplay and left an
indelible mark on the history of hip-hop.

Pound, Dj Premier, Talib Kweli, Cypress Hill, Kendrick Lamar, further solidifying his position

MC EIHT est considéré comme une légende du rap de la West Coast, aux côtés de noms
comme N.W.A (Niggaz With Attitudes), Ice T, Schooly D, Too $hort ou Geto Boys, en raison
de sa contribution significative à ce genre musical et de sa capacité à maintenir une carrière
fructueuse pendant de nombreuses années.
En tant que pionnier du gangsta rap, il a défini le son du gangsta rap de la côte ouest,
respecté dans le rap game depuis les années 90 !
Originaire de Compton et membre fondateur du groupe de rap « Compton’s Most Wanted »
(CMW), MC Eiht est devenu le porte-parole de sa communauté, racontant les réalités de la
vie dans sa ville à travers sa musique. Il a contribué à mettre en lumière les défis et les
histoires du quartier de Compton.
